WHAT TO BRING
The Sentinel provides all bedding, pillows and towels
Please bring eco-friendly/biodegradable toiletries, as this keeps our septic system healthier.
Please refrain from using strongly scented or perfumed products during your stay at the centre.
Each season brings its own qualities and we suggest checking below for appropriate clothing, footwear and incidentals.
The temperature in Kaslo varies greatly depending on the time of year and so the centre experiences 4 distinct seasons.
Spring (May to June)
Temperatures at the beginning of the spring are generally warm, with daily highs averaging 17° 1° Celsius. Nighttime still sees the occasional frost earlier in the season. By late June, the temperatures tend to rise to 21° Celsius
Summer (July to August)
The weather in summer is generally very warm, with daily highs averaging 27° Celsius. Temperature can drop dramatically in the evenings and mornings (to about 10°, cooler towards the end of August). To be prepared, in addition to summer clothes and loose clothes for yoga, bring some warmer layers.
Fall (September to November)
Days in the fall are generally pleasant, with daily highs around 20°C. By November, the temperature tends to drop to 5°C during the day, with lows of 5°C overnight
Winter (December to April)
We enjoy a reasonably temperate climate, without the extremes that some of Canada experience. The weather in the colder months can vary from just above 0 to an occasional -25°C. Bring layers of warm and loose clothes for activities indoors and outdoors. A pair of micro-spikes for walking when it is icy is recommended as well as waterproof footwear that has good grip. Please contact us for any outdoor special needs such as micro-spikes, snowshoes or basic winter gear.
BC legislation requires that there be no smoking within 3 meters (10 feet) of any window or door. Please smoke only in the designated areas and use the sand receptacles to extinguish. Smoking and vaping is not allowed in any guest rooms, meeting rooms, common areas, or on any outdoor deck at The Sentinel.
We ask all guests to respect quiet hours between 11:00 PM and 8:00 AM. Televisions, music, radios and other noise-generating devices should be turned off or played at a very low volume during these hours. We appreciate your consideration for others and cooperation with this policy.
