This unique long weekend Retreat on the shores of Kootenay Lake is designed for a little less ‘doing’ and little more ‘being’ than our signature hiking retreats. Join us for 3 days of Cultivating Awareness as we explore the practices of Yoga, Meditation, Field Journalling & Sketching, and Ayurveda.


Back to basics, with all the trimmings

Yoga Classes: Twice daily yoga classes will explore both the invigorating practice of Vinyasa Flow and the more restful styles of Yin, Restorative, and Yoga Nidra. Morning yoga classes will be the more active style of Vinyasa Flow. Afternoon and evening classes will be a combination of Yin and Restorative – more gentle in nature.
Some yoga experience is beneficial yet not mandatory.

Field Journaling and Sketching: Learn more about the Art of Observation with Kristin. Take your journal outside to truly observe your surroundings in an up close and personal way. Field Journaling is the art of truly seeing a thing. The art of field journaling is used as a tool for observation, both internally and externally. In the field journaling classes, we will explore documenting observations and questions through writing and sketching.

Ayurveda Workshops Experience this ancient system of health and healing from India and learn its techniques to find balance in your life. Ayurveda programs will be an opportunity to learn the basic philosophy of this ancient
system of health. We will contemplate and explore our own unique individual ‘dosha’ or constitutions and offer a framework for creating nourishing daily rhythms, seasonal rhythms and foods that help to create balance.

Professional Instruction: Beth Purser (500 hr RYT) and Sarah Darval (200 hr RYT) are both passionate about sharing their Yoga experiences and passing down the teachings and philosophy of Yoga.

Deluxe Yoga Mandala: Yoga classes and some workshops will take place in this extraordinary Mandala overlooking the lake. Be prepared to be inspired!

Massage and Bodywork: Book a massage treatment with Sarah Darval or Beth Purser in one of 2 deluxe treatment rooms. Extra cost, contact us for details.

Amazing Accommodation: Each deluxe room at the Sentinel offers a stunning view overlooking Kootenay Lake. You might not want to leave your room all weekend!

Beth Purser
Beth Purser – Founder – Revelstoke Retreats, ACMG Hiking Guide, RYT 500 Beth and Kristin are heading into their 6th year of guiding Hiking & Yoga themed Retreats. With almost 20 years experience as a hiking guide, Beth folded in her passion for yoga to create balanced, memorable experiences in a variety of venues around B.C. Kristin Anthony-Malone
Kristin Anthony-Malone is a co-owner of Revelstoke Retreats as well as the Operations Manager with the Canadian Avalanche Association and lives in Revelstoke full time with her husband and two kids. Prior to this, she worked as a field instructor for the Colorado Mountain College, the National Outdoor Leadership School and the Yosemite Institute. Kristin has been teaching Field Journaling for over 20 years. Kristin was first introduced to the art of field journaling as a student in Alaska and then later became an instructor for the same program.

Sarah Darval
Sarah is passionate about creating space for collective flow and precious stillness as a means to a deeper experience of embodiment. Sarah’s yoga classes are infused with intention, weave creative movement with intentional sequencing, and invite students into the state of flow. Sarah is a dedicated student of Prana Vinyasa Yoga, Soto Zen Buddhism and Ayurveda and looks forward to sharing flow yoga classes, meditation & pranayama as well as Ayurveda workshops on the retreat.
